An Awena demon, Damara is the basis for the Celtic goddess of the same name. When the Goa'uld started kill her race, including her lover Morrigan, she fled to Scandinavia where the Asgard gave her shelter and she took on the persona of Freya. Her race is also the basis for pixies.
